Jay Barry Harris, partner at the law firm of Fineman Krekstein & Harris P.C., has been selected as one of the “Pennsylvania Super Lawyers” in the area transportation law and is highlighted in the current (June) editions of Philadelphia Magazine and Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.

He was selected after statewide polling of peers, extensive screening and interviews and final selection by a blue ribbon panel. Only five per cent of Pennsylvania’s lawyers are awarded this honor.

Harris concentrates his practice in all aspects of insurance defense and commercial litigation, and is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. the Defense Research Institute, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel.

He has served on the boards of numerous community organizations including the American Liver Foundation, American Cancer Society, Whitemarsh Planning Commission and Whitemarsh Township Authority. He was also the president of Congregation Beth Tikvah- B’nai Jeshurun.in Erdenheim.

In addition to litigating, Mr. Harris lectures to many community and professional groups on such topics as employment, trucking, nursing home, bad faith and lead paint litigation. He has also authored articles on a variety of employment and insurance issues and the trucking industry.

Harris graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude, and he received his law degree from Temple University. After graduating, he served as law clerk for the Honorable Abraham J. Gafni of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

Harris is a resident of Lafayette Hill, Pa.
