Philadelphia, June 5 – Mary F. Platt, immediate-past Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association and a litigator at the Philadelphia-based law firm of Fineman Krekstein & Harris P.C., was given the 2019 Achievement Award by the Alumnae Association of Mount Holyoke College.
Mary, an Urban Studies major who graduated from the College, was honored for her outstanding service to the community and her work at the Philadelphia Bar Association and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Woman’s Law Project, a state-based legal center devoted to protecting the rights of women, girls and LGBTQ in Pennsylvania.
She served the Bar Association in many leadership positions prior to her election to the Chancellorship. As a Judge Pro Tem in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Commerce Court Program, she serves as a mediator in settlement conferences at the request of Commerce Court Judges.
Platt has extensive experience representing global companies and closely-held businesses in a wide variety of complex litigation matters. She has represented corporate clients in class action cases and individual matters, and she has defended attorneys in malpractice cases and work disputes.
She is a member of the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars, and the US Supreme Court, US. Court of Appeals in the Third and Seventh Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the District of New Jersey. She-received her JD from Georgetown University Law Center.
