We mourn the loss of our colleague, our partner and our friend, Jay Barry Harris. His leadership, his passion for the practice of law, his mentorship of young attorneys, his compassion and warmth for those around him will be greatly missed.
A seasoned litigator with more than 35 years of experience, Jay Barry Harris represents businesses in complex civil litigation with a focus in the trucking industry and insurance coverage matters.On behalf of trucking companies, Jay handles a variety of matters including property damage and personal injury claims, cargo, employment-related issues and contract disputes. He advises his clients in risk management and compliance matters.
Jay represents insurers involved in insurance coverage disputes including property, casualty, professional, health and disability claims. He also represents insureds in transportation, premises liability, products liability, construction, professional liability, employment, dram shop, municpal liability, garage and garage keeper’s claims. His clients span a variety of industries including food and beverage, retail, professional services, manufacturing and distribution.
Jay has published numerous articles and frequently lectures on legal issues related to insurance coverage, commercial litigation and the trucking industry. He authored a chapter for DRI TRIA subcommittee as part of the DRI’s submission to the US Congress and Senate and he co-authored a chapter on commerical transportation coverage issues for the 2012 edition of New Appleman on Insurance Law.
