Hien is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Group. She concentrates her practice in civil cases and has handled all aspects of pretrial practice and trial preparation in state and federal courts.
Before joining the firm, Hien gained valuable litigation experience at a Philadelphia law firm, with a focus on plaintiffs’ personal injury litigation involving motor vehicle accidents, bad faith claims, premises liability, Workers’ Compensation, and catastrophic injuries, as well as breach of contract and real property disputes. She handled an extensive motion practice and all stages of discovery, and consistently obtained court decisions in her clients’ favor.
During law school, Hien was a legal intern at Prudential Financial, Inc. in Newark, New Jersey. She also worked pro bono for a nonprofit legal services agency in Newark, New Jersey where she handled numerous appeals before Administrative Law Judges for clients who were denied Supplemental Security Income and/or Social Security disability insurance benefits. She worked on litigated child welfare cases in the law school’s Child Advocacy Clinic. Before law school, Hien assisted Vice Presidents and Assistant General Counsel at O’Neill Properties Group, L.P. who handled zoning, land use, and land development and construction.
Hien received her law degree from Rutgers School of Law – Newark and her Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College studying Psychology and Philosophy.
Hien currently serves as a Committeeperson for the 40B Democratic Ward Executive Committee of Philadelphia. After law school, she has also volunteered her time as a community advocate on a number of quality of life issues. Hien speaks conversational Vietnamese and is active in the Asian American community.
