Governor Christie Criticizes Congress For Delaying Sandy Aid Package

During his March 25, 2013 “Ask the Governor” program, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie criticized Congress for taking more than 90-days to approve a Hurricane Sandy-related federal aid package for the tri-state area. He argued that this delay has caused New Jersey residents to forestall rebuilding efforts necessitated by Sandy’s devastation.

“We’re feeling it on the back end,” Gov. Christie told a caller to the TownSquare Media program. He also said that grant money will not be available for New Jersey residents until federal officials approve the state’s disaster action plan. The governor expects that to happen in early April.
