Lee Applebaum is a partner in the firm's litigation group, focusing his work
on business and commercial litigation matters, as well as insurance coverage
and bad faith cases. His practice encompasses trial level and appellate work
in the federal and state courts and includes extensive experience in private
commercial arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations. He has argued
his clients' cases before the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey,
and the United States Third Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Applebaum
was recognized among his peers for the fourth year in a row as a "Super
Lawyer" for his expertise in Business Litigation, and has long received
Martindale Hubbell's AV rating.
Mr. Applebaum has been involved in a wide variety of disputes involving real
estate, the Uniform Commercial Code, business torts, contract actions, securities
law claims, employment disputes concerning wrongful termination and restrictive
covenants, insurance coverage and defense matters, and has litigated, written
and spoken extensively on civil RICO.
Mr. Applebaum places a premium on serving his clients with full dedication. “It
is for our clients that we practice law in the first place.” He has written
on the high level of professionalism expected of attorneys in their relationships

Mr. Applebaum is Vice Chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business
Law Section. He is the past Chair of the Section’s Business Litigation
Committee, which was twice named Committee of the Year under his leadership.
Mr. Applebaum also is currently Co-Chair of the American Bar Association's Subcommittee
on Business Courts, a subject on which he is a national authority, having written
numerous articles, consulted on the creation of business courts, and spoken extensively
on the subject to legislators, judges and lawyers across the country. He is among
only a few lawyers to be named an honorary charter member of the American College
of Business Court Judges. He is the coordinator of the Commerce Case Management
Program Opinion Project, working with lawyers and regional law schools in Philadelphia
and New Jersey, and is an advisor to the University of Maryland School of Law’s
Journal of Business and Technology Law.
